Litecoin Core version 0.16.3 is now available from: https://download.litecoin.org/litecoin-0.16.3/ This is a new minor version release, with various bugfixes as well as updated translations. Please report bugs using the issue tracker at GitHub: https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/issues To receive security and update notifications, please subscribe to: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/litecoin-dev How to Upgrade If you are running an older version, shut it down. Wait until it has completely shut down (which might take a few minutes for older versions), then run the installer (on Windows) or just copy over /Applications/Litecoin-Qt (on Mac) or litecoind/litecoin-qt (on Linux). The first time you run version 0.15.0 or newer, your chainstate database will be converted to a new format, which will take anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the speed of your machine. Note that the block database format also changed in version 0.8.0 and there is no automatic upgrade code from before version 0.8 to version 0.15.0 or higher. Upgrading directly from 0.7.x and earlier without re-downloading the blockchain is not supported. However, as usual, old wallet versions are still supported. Downgrading warning Wallets created in 0.16 and later are not compatible with versions prior to 0.16 and will not work if you try to use newly created wallets in older versions. Existing wallets that were created with older versions are not affected by this. Compatibility Litecoin Core is extensively tested on multiple operating systems using the Linux kernel, macOS 10.8+, and Windows Vista and later. Windows XP is not supported. Litecoin Core should also work on most other Unix-like systems but is not frequently tested on them. Notable changes Denial-of-Service vulnerability A denial-of-service vulnerability exploitable by miners has been discovered in Litecoin Core versions 0.14.0 up to 0.16.2. It is recommended to upgrade any of the vulnerable versions to 0.16.3 as soon as possible. 0.16.3 change log Consensus 14249 696b936 Fix crash bug with duplicate inputs within a transaction (TheBlueMatt, sdaftuar) Credits Thanks to everyone who directly contributed to this release: The Bitcoin Core Developers Adrian Gallagher aunyks coblee cryptonexii gabrieldov jmutkawoa Martin Smith NeMO84 ppm0 romanornr shaolinfry spl0i7 stedwms ultragtx VKoskiv voidmain wbsmolen xinxi And to those that reported security issues: beardnboobies

About Qtum and Mainnet Ignition Qtum is a decentralized blockchain project built on Bitcoin's UTXO model, with support for Ethereum Virtual Machine based smart contracts, and secured by a proof of stake consensus model. It achieves this through the revolutionary Account Abstraction Layer which allows the EVM to communicate with Qtum's Bitcoin-like UTXO blockchain. For more general information about Qtum as well as links to join our community, go to https://qtum.org Welcome to the Qtum Ignition Main Network. This is the main network where the tokens hold value and should be guarded very carefully. There will be a testnet setup soon for developers, in the meantime you can use -regtest mode for testing needs. We will announce details about the token swap from QTUM ERC20 coins to QTUM mainnet tokens soon, watch our website for details about that. The major features implemented in Qtum Ignition include: The Ethereum Virtual Machine, which allows for compatibility with most existing Solidity based smart contracts. The Smart Staking Protocol is complete, which is an optimized Proof of Stake implementation designed for a smart contract platform (however, smart contracts can not participate in staking yet). An improved smart contract GUI has been implemented that can be used for creating contracts, sending data and Qtum to them, and checking their status by executing them locally, The GUI also offers easy QRC20 tokens management. Regtest mode, which is ideal for developers who wish to create their own private blockchain. It is tuned specifically to make development easier. It will stake blocks automatically every 30 seconds, and can generate proof-of-work blocks instantly as needed. The Decentralized Governance Protocol is completely implemented and functional, which allows certain network parameters to be modified without a fork. For more technical information for how to start developing with Qtum please read the Guide and also see this tutorial for deploying a simple faucet smart contract (it hasn't yet been updated for Mainnet for obvious reasons, but all the instructions are the same and you can try them in regtest mode) Note: Qtum Core is considered beta software. We make no warranties or guarantees of its security or stability. But mostly it boils down to the following: Clone the qtum source code and cd into qtum git clone --recursive https://github.com/qtumproject/qtum.git cd qtum Build qtum-core: Configure and build the headless qtum binaries as well as the GUI (if Qt is found). You can disable the GUI build by passing --without-gui to configure. ./autogen.sh ./configure make It is recommended to build and run the unit tests to ensure everything is working correctly: make check If you encounter an error like: make[2]: *** No rule to make target ‘cpp-ethereum/utils/libscrypt/b64.c’, needed by ‘cpp-ethereum/utils/libscrypt/libbitcoinconsensus_la-b64.lo’. Stop. Then you did not checkout the cpp-ethereum submodule for Qtum. To do that, simply: cd qtum git submodule update --init --recursive Validate and Reproduce Binaries Qtum uses a tool called Gitian to make reproducible builds that can be verified by anyone. Instructions on setting up a Gitian VM and building Qtum are provided in doc/gitian-building.md Community Resources Make sure to check out these resources as well for more information and to keep up to date with all the latest news about Qtum. At least 1 developer is always around, so if you're developing on Qtum and need help, we'd love to welcome you to our community. /r/Qtum on Reddit Qtum Telegram Group @QtumOfficial on Twitter Qtum on Facebook Qtum Forum Qtum.org Qtum Smart Contract Limitations EVM smart contracts can not receive coins from or send coins to any address type other than pay-to-pubkeyhash (starts with Q) addresses. This is due to a limitation in the EVM Contracts are not allowed to create contracts with an initial endowment of coins. The contract must first be created, and then be sent coins in a separate transaction. Humans are also not allowed to create contracts with an initial endowment of coins. Although all of the infrastructure is present, Qtum Core does not currently parse Solidity event data. You must parse this yourself using either searchlogs or -record-log-opcodes features. It is not possible to send a contract coins without also executing the contract. This is also the case of Ethereum. This was promised in earlier discussions and technically does work, but due to lack of time for testing this feature was disabled. We hope to reenable this feature with release of the x86 virtual machine in 2018. In Qtum there can be multiple addresses used to create a proof-of-stake block. However, the EVM can only see the first output using the coinbase operation in Solidity (this address is also the one registered for the continuous staker rewards after 500 blocks). In an effort to get back to releasing desktop updates more frequently, version 1.1.3 is now ready which includes all of the latest updates from the web wallet. Everything seems to have gone pretty smoothly with the introduction of Ledger support on the desktop version, so this update mainly includes a few small new Quality of Life improvements. Please enjoy, and as always - let us know via GitHub Issues or Discord if you run into any issues! Support for nano_ prefix - You can now use the nano_ prefix with any account when transacting. Simply replace xrb_ and leave the rest of the address the same. NanoCrawler and MyNanoNinja Official Mirrors - If you run into any issues with the NanoVault node, you can now select from two new options in your App Settings to easily switch to a predefined mirror. Improved Backend Detection - Your balance on the navigation is now replaced with the connection status of the node until you are connected. This should remove any scares of showing a 0 balance, while also making it easy to switch to a mirror if your current backend is not responding. Minimum Receive Option - In an effort to deal with spam transactions, you can now set a Minimum Receive amount. Any transactions below this amount will be ignored by the wallet and remain pending until you change the setting. Default Rep - A new option has been added so you can configure the default representative used for all newly opened accounts. Wallet Override Confirmation - You will now be presented with a confirmation dialog when creating/importing a wallet while you already have one configured. This is to ensure you have the seed for your current wallet saved before it is overwritten. Improved UI around mnemonic phrases when creating a new wallet Fix detection of online representatives, which changed with Node RPC v18 Fix small bug that would not properly detect previously configured Ledger wallets on the homepage

DigiByte Core 6.17.2 This will be mostly of interest to pool-operators, as we prepare the way for hashing algorithm replacements. We need to get pool operators running DigiByte Core 6.17.2+ so that we can ensure a smooth transition down the road to Odocrypt and or other algorithms. No official plans have yet to be confirmed for an algo swap. No block has ever been mined on DigiByte with a non-standard SCRYPT version, but the code currently allows it. This is problematic for algo-swap hard-forks, so to make the upcoming hard-fork easier we do a soft-fork now that forbids non-standard SCRYPT versions. We'll need miners to upgrade. See: https://github.com/digibyte/digibyte/pull/162 What's new? Preparation for Odocrypt algorithm (No change date set yet) Mine multiple algorithms on a single digibyted instance Blockchain pruning now can be set in qt interface. Partial spend avoidance flag for privacy (optional) Partially Signed Transaction support Scan TX output support Transaction indexing can be toggled on-the-fly Testnet fixes & reset Upstream improvements from Bitcoin Core 0.17 & 0.17.1 On par with BTC as of tag v7.17.1, December 6th: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/commit/ef70f9b52b851c7997a9f1a0834714e3eebc1fd8 See BTC 0.17.0 Release notes here: https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.17.0 See BTC 0.17.1 Release notes here: https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.17.0 For a broader explanation of the improvements, see https://medium.com/@josiah_digibyte/heres-digibyte-core-6-17-2-f77faa2b70ee Who should upgrade? This upgrade is not specifically required for end-users, nor exchanges, although they are encouraged to remain on a recent release. The upgrade is mandatory for miners due to the preparation for potential future algo changes such as Odocrypt, even though the upgrade is not yet scheduled and no Odocrypt hashing code has been merged into 6.17.2

THIS RELEASE IS SOMEWHAT STABLE DO NOT USE IT FOR YOUR MAIN WALLET DO NOT USE IT IN PRODUCTION Known Issues: bench is still not working Features: Enabling the view of the estimated hash power per algorithm and also all-in-one. It just work like, rewinding the last 360 blocks to get an average hashpower by the required difficulty and time taken to mine the blocks [208d1bd] Sadly we had a bug in the beta version, where stealth funds weren’t receivable, whenever you send one. It was due to the incorrect keys being propagated to the blockchain. This has now been fixed. It’s now sending out the ephemeral public key, which can be identified by the receiver. [#892] After a long discussion internally, but also publicly on Twitter, we decided to upgrade our current version of tor from to This Upgrade also brought along some new major feature: We officially support Onion Services V3! [#872] We have a base fee 0.1 XVG / KB, with that we come to the conclusion, that you might exceed some transactions limits and broadcasting them with a too low fee, which causes that your transaction isn’t processed. This is now fixed. As you exceed this limit (size>1kb), you have to pay a higher fee. [71501b6] Thanks to @leto we've got an upgrade of the ZMQ library (fixing various vulnerabilities) [#874] Support for i2p [#873] Tag was created at b0ac5da
